Weekly Astrology & Energy Forecast 6th January 2025

This week, we’re navigating the energy of the first quarter moon phase, a time that encourages us to make progress and take action. Mercury’s move into Capricorn midweek provides a boost in focus and direction, helping to cut through the fog and support practical steps towards our goals. However, the path forward might feel a bit stop start, with moments of forward momentum and mental clarity met with inward, introspective and energy that wants us to look back.

Working in opposition to the moon and mercury, Mars continues its retrograde journey, moving back into Cancer and revisiting themes that may have surfaced during autumn 2024. This period asks us to slow down and reflect and may bring up potential challenges and emotional triggers. Coupled with the full swing of the winter season—a time for nourishment, introspection, and embracing slowness—it might feel as though progress is harder to come by in certain areas of life.

Adding to the shift in energy, the Nodes of Fate change signs this week, bringing a fresh tone and collective focus. This transition, which occurs every 18 months, signals a new chapter both collectively and personally. As we adjust to these changes, the week ahead offers opportunities to balance forward momentum with patience and introspection.

Astro Highlights of This Week

Monday 6th January

  • Mars in Leo opposed Pluto in Aquarius last week

Last week saw a tense opposition between Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius. This aspect may still linger, stirring power struggles or intense desires. It’s a good moment to reflect on how you handled any confrontations or around any change or transformation that is present.

  • Mercury in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces

    • Mercury, which has been in Sagittarius for an extended stay due to its retrograde phase in December, forms a challenging square with Neptune in Pisces. This marks the conclusion of a back-and-forth journey between these two planets.

    • The start of the week might feel hazy, with a foggy sense of confusion or lack of clarity. However, relief is on the horizon as Mercury is set to enter Capricorn on Wednesday, bringing a sharper focus.

  • Mars retrogrades back into Cancer

    • Mars, which is still retrograde, moves back into Cancer and will remain retrograde until 23rd February. This transit revisits areas of your life that were activated during autumn 2024, offering a chance to reassess and resolve unfinished business.

    • Mars is in its fall in Cancer, meaning its assertive and fiery nature feels out of place in this sensitive, emotional sign. You may experience aggravation or heightened emotions in the area of your chart ruled by Cancer.

    • Be mindful of potential conflicts. Approach situations with calmness and objectivity, even when emotions run high.

    • The effort you put in now can lead to rewards later. When Jupiter moves into Cancer in June, the groundwork laid during this period will bear fruit.

Wednesday 8th January

  • Mercury moves into Capricorn

    • Mercury shifts into the pragmatic and determined sign of Capricorn, bringing a productive and organised energy to communication and planning.

    • If the beginning of the week felt unclear, this transit could bring a welcome sense of clarity and direction. Mercury in Capricorn encourages ambitious, well-structured thinking, allowing you to focus on practical goals.

Saturday 11th January

  • The Nodes of Fate move from Aries & Libra to Virgo and Pisces

    • The lunar nodes, often referred to as the "Nodes of Fate," shift from the Aries-Libra axis to Virgo and Pisces. While the full significance of this transition won't be clear until the eclipses in April and later in September, it marks the beginning of a new cycle.

    • The North Node in Pisces symbolises the direction of growth and evolution. It urges us to embrace compassion, creativity, and a more holistic perspective on life.

    • Meanwhile, the South Node in Virgo represents what we are leaving behind. It highlights areas of life that require integration or completion, particularly related to over-focus on details or perfectionism.

    • This nodal shift invites us to prioritise the big picture and develop a more empathetic approach, stepping away from the analytical tendencies of Virgo.

This week brings a mix of challenges and opportunities, asking for reflection, clarity, and growth. While certain transits may stir uncertainty or emotional tension, there are also moments of focus and forward momentum. Take advantage of the organised energy midweek and approach the weekend with an open mind as new cycles begin to unfold.
